Fender Custom Shop '65 Precision Bass Deluxe Closet Classic, Midnight Purple

Fresh in from the Fender Custom Shop we have this '65 Precision Bass sporting a Deluxe Closet Classic Midnight Purple finish – timeless! From headstock to strap button, this bass is oozing with vintage vibe, noteworthy specs, and whole lotta flair. Go big or go home.

This 4-stringer gets its body from 2-piece alder construction, sorted for light weight of course – the entire build clocks in at just 9 lb 0.1 oz. Lightweight and resonant, the body is treated to a coat of Midnight Purple and is outfitted with nickel/chrome hardware, a multi-ply tortoise pickguard, and a thumb rest.

Its bolt on maple neck boats a '60 P-Bass Oval "C" profile and is topped with a 7.25-inch AAA rosewood fingerboard – accented with mother of pearl dot inlays and 20 frets. The bass offers smooth playability with a solid feel. A 3rd strap button has been added to the back of the headstock, providing various options to get comfortable while in playing position.

Its body is loaded with a handwound '65-'70 P Bass pickup; designed to output vintage-inspired punch and growl. No matter what the P is plugged into, this pickup sounds great. The control set is as simple as it gets – volume and tone.

Strings are loaded through the chrome covered P/J style bridge and make their way up to the bone nut before being strung to pitch with the vintage bass style tuning machines. The entire bass has been treated to Fender Custom Shop's Deluxe Closet Classic treatment – simulating a vintage instrument that was kept in the case for decades, but saw the occasional backyard/club gig. The bass comes accompanied by hardshell case which sports a black exterior and plush red interior.
