Displaying a rough-around-the-edges aesthetic like a real workshop treasure, this Esquire matches its Super Heavy Relic finish treatment with its variety of woodgrain colors to result in a truly striking visual creation. This Fender Custom Shop begins with an Eastern white pine body formed in a classic single-cutaway Fender form. The cut of pine used in this model is fully on display as its lacquer finish is majorly scraped away, displaying the pine’s natural stripes and patterns. Tastefully worn, this Esquire features a Fender Custom Shop Super Heavy Relic finish treatment – a rarely seen degree of relic from the Custom Shop – that undeniably implies a lineage of love and use. The Eastern white pine of this Esquire is paired with a one-piece riftsawn maple neck shaped in a 1950 Esquire “U” profile. Offering a more classic, vintage-minded feel in hand, this neck offers a firm and full grip in hand, reminiscent of Fender’s earliest necks. This riftsawn maple fills out to a fingerboard featuring a 7.25” - 9.5” Vintage Compound radius that offers a unique feel across the fingers as it gradually moves from a tighter, classic-feeling radius at the top to a more modern width closer to the body. Twenty-one frets line this board utilizing 47095 Jescar Medium Vintage fret wire to add onto the full vintage experience of this guitar. Vintage-Style tuning machines top off the neck for easy string changes and solid intonation alongside a Vintage-Style Disc string tree.
