Holy SG Custom, Gibson! Fresh in from the Nashville, TN, we have this Gibson Custom Shop SG Custom Batwing P-90. As part of the 2025 Gibson Limited Edition Collection, this one-of-a-kind creation showcases the very best Gibson Custom Shop can deliver. To the Murphy Lab!

The SG is crafted from a 1-piece solid mahogany body that is expertly craved and contoured to the iconic double-cutaway, slightly offset horns. The 3-ply "batwing" pickguard, originally introduced in the late '60s to allow for pickups to be directly mounted to the guard, contains 2 hand-wired Custom P-90 pickups. From rolled off cleans to full on flame-thrower overdrive, these souped up single-coils sound incredible in both the bridge and neck positions. Tone can be further controlled with the 3-way switch and individual volume and tone controls.

A bound 1961 authentic thin "D" shaped mahogany neck is affixed to the body in a traditional glue in, set-neck design. Meeting at the body at the 22nd fret the neck profile paired with the double-cut body style offers exceptional playability. The neck is topped by a 12-inch radius ebony fingerboard and is accented with mother of pearl block inlays and crowned with 22 frets. Strings are loaded through the Stop Bar Tailpiece and past over the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, before making their way to the Corian nut. Strings are tuned to pitch at the open book headstock with the Grover tuning machines. The head showcases the signature Custom split diamond inlay logo.

The fit and finish on this SG Custom is exceptional. Sporting a sleek Ebony finish, the entire guitar has been Heavy Aged by the artisans in the Murphy Lab. Simulating decades of heavy use and abuse, the instrument showcases nicks, dings, and finish checking that tastefully bring the vintage mojo to a modern built guitar.

Housed in its orange interior/black exterior hardshell case, this SG Custom is ready to take flight.
