Gibson L-00 Special Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Rosewood Fingerboard, Satin Ebony

The Gibson L-00 Special returns in 2026 with a classic Satin Ebony finish. Since 1932, the L-00 has remained one of Gibson's most sought after small-bodied acoustic guitar designs, offering players a small bodied acoustic that offers a dynamic, full sound.  

Crafted by our friends in Bozeman, Montana, the L-00 is constructed from a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. Supporting its tone, traditional scalloped x-bracing enhances vibrations, offering a balanced tone with excellent dynamics. The body's narrow waist offers a comforting playing experience with tightened low end bass response which is particularly appealing for finger-style. Both the top and back of the parlor are decorated with single ply cream binding and the top is decorated with a faux tortoiseshell pickguard.

Its utile neck is attached to the body using a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint and like all Gibson acoustic guitars, is affixed by hot hide glue to secure a proper fit. A SlimTaper neck profile and 12-inch fingerboard radius provide an easy going play experience. Topped with a rosewood fingerboard, 19 standard frets, and mother of pearl dot inlays, the guitar feels effortless to thanks to these carefully selected specs paired with its satin nitro finish. 

The L-00's signature open-book headstock houses the Grover Rotomatic tuning machines for enhanced tuning stability. The strings are loaded in the closed slot rosewood bridge and capped with TUSQ bridge pins before making their way to the saddle and nut. For on the go plug-and-play, the L-00 Special is equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze active under-saddle piezo pickup and active preamp with a soundhole-mounted volume control.
