Paying homage to Martin's distinguished lineage, this model echoes the rich history of the original model while making its own unique mark on the acoustic world.

Featuring a top of Adirondack spruce, known for its striking tonal clarity and impressive dynamic range, it is complemented by a back and sides of wild grain East Indian rosewood, handpicked by Martin and the Custom Shop Experts here at Russo. The Martin Custom Shop HD 28’s body resonates with warmth and richness, respecting the authenticity of the carefully selected tonewoods. On the technical side, it's graced with scalloped forward-shifted X-bracing made from 1/4" Adirondack Spruce, ensuring responsiveness and plenty of pleasantly resonant projection.

The Custom Martin HD-28 Ambertone guitar’s appeal is elevated by elegant HD-style ornamentation details throughout. The back purfling features a gorgeous HD Zig Zag design and the top boasts the classic herringbone patterned inlay around the edges. Both striking elements add an aesthetic that exudes Martin's dedication to timeless class and style.

The guitar's neck, crafted from select hardwood, uses a Modified Low Oval profile with High Performance Taper, for that familiar feel and comfort. Crowned with a dark ebony fingerboard adorned with abalone Diamonds and Squares inlays make it a feast for the eyes. Stocked with 20 standard frets, a 1.75" bone nut, and a 16" radius keep it easy to play and hard to put down.

Eschewing electronic components entirely, the Custom Martin HD-28 Adirondack top guitar remains true to the pure, acoustic heritage crafted by Martin for almost 100 years. The ebony Modern Belly bridge features a drop-in compensated bone saddle for optimal tonal transmission and excellent intonation.

The nitrocellulose finish might just deserve its own chapter: an Ambertone 1933 top, gloss body, and satin neck, combining devilishly good looks with durability. All this, packed safely into a molded hardshell home of its own.
